Prop Box Idea for the Letter Jj = Jack and The Beanstalk
Fill the prop box with items that will help the children recreate the story after reading it together.
Some suggestions: A copy of the book, a cow mask or horns, a pretend ax, a bag of magic beans (jelly beans or colored
uncooked lima beans), a funny hat or oversized clothes for the giant, and a scarf or apron for the mother to wear.
Suspend something from your ceiling to represent the beanstalk-green streamers, or a string of green painted paper
towel tubes w/ some leaves stuck on - let the children help you brainstorm!

Jungle Collage
Give the children jungle die cuts to paint and add to a leafy green background-this could be a mural, or each child could do their own.
Jellybean Estimation
Have children guess how many jelly beans you have put out. You can also use the jellybeans for counting and sorting by color-and you can let them eat some!

Jolly Jelly Faces
Children spread some jelly on english muffin half, tortilla or rice cake, and add features made from things like
mini M&M’s & chocolate chips.
Juice Pops
Children help make juice from concentrate and use a small pitcher to pour into ice cube trays or small paper cups.
Cover w/ foil or plastic wrap and put Popsicle sticks in.
